The Song I Swore to Never Sing

by xTheEcstasyOfSuicidex   May 17, 2007

No longer can I feel the rungs,
The latter's slipping away.
There is water in my lungs,
But I really hope you stay.

The coffee has gone stale,
I certainly need a new taste,
I've lost hold of the guard rail;
We don't have any time to waste.

The door has lost its handle,
I'm drowning in the sea,
These stupid lies are your scandal;
Oh, please, set me free.

No longer can I feel the rungs,
The latter's slipping away.
There's water in my lungs,
But I really hope you stay.

There's a splinter in my broken back,
It's dragging me farther down,
I've fallen in this crack,
And can no longer look around.

The bones in my heart are broken,
I can only pretend you're there,
Take this appreciation of a token,
Honestly; it's only fair.

No longer can I feel the rungs,
The latter's slipping away.
There's water in my lungs,
But I really hope you stay.

I'm as helpless as a plea,
The words go unsaid.
I'm drowning in the sea,
Not your arms instead.

No longer can I feel the rungs,
The latter's slipping away.
There's water in my lungs,
But I really hope you stay.

    Wow, once again I am speechless...darn you >.< lol. I loved the repetition of the one stanza, it really brought it together. However, speaking of that stanza, by 'latter' did you mean 'ladder'? Lol, because 'ladder' with d's is the one you climb. :]
