Take a Stand

by The Tears I bleed   May 17, 2007

I feel the heat boiling from within
I'm reminded of my destiny
Time and time again

How I'd love to let this cup pass from my hand
But I just seem to slip away
The wind blows away grains of sand
And the grains of sand are my hopes, my dreams
My choices

I can try and fight my fate
But people say you can't change what is already pre-written
Boiling and spilling over is my hate,
A hate for a fate I never wished upon myself

Yet like a loyal solider I go and fight
Never-mind what I think is right
Follow orders and take commands
Never-mind my own wants or demands

So here at the dragon's pit I stand,
Weary and weak and tired of every demand
I'll walk in with my head held high,
Not even aware of the fact I never once took a stand for myself before I shall die
