Tired Ink

by Natalie84   May 18, 2007

Dreams yearning to meet reality
Sit along the back of my mind
I've wasted years of scripting hope
To free desires lit ablaze

I fantasize of finding that hunted pleasure
And each day I await purity's embrace
Candidly praying through inscription
To discover my hopeless treasure

My expressions so timidly beg the heavens
To graciously comply to one request
I envy the smiles I pass each day
I'm begging to be completed by my vision

I write of craving untainted happiness
And thirst for everlasting peace
I'm praying to be granted that ideal life
Within a pose of promise and stability

Every day I find myself with my pen in hand
Steadily inscribing what I long for in my existence
I've been etching anticipation and need
But all I have to show is this empty feeling

For years I've been carving into this paper
The fruitless flight of my imagination
I've been pouring out my soul through this ink
And quite frankly, this weary pen is prepared to resign

    Nice, really nice nat...
just one suggestion...scripting, inscription, and inscribing...three words are very alike...try synonyms and it might add perspective...unless ofcourse you intended the repetition...

I specially enjoyed the thirst for everlasting peace part...maybe cause I related to it...maybe cause we all do..

This is really one of the best poems I've ever read. Your feelings really come out in it, and it's an extremely well-written piece. Keep up the great work.
