Still Me

by Maren L Johnson   May 18, 2007

I try to be the person they want me to be
But I'm not and will never be.

I can't be their ballerina
I can't be their bright spark.

I'm me and will always be.

So what if I don't do that and I drive you up the wall.
You made the choice to bring me here.

I'm here and will be until my forever is at its end

I'm through trying to be that person you want me to be.

I curse and I'm a little bit different from the rest.

But if you look deep enough I'm still the same child.

Different clothes and slangs maybe different hair.

But I'm still me.
