If you ever catch me,
looking into his eyes.
Here’s a heads up,
On what all I see.
I see a beautiful house,
With blue shudders.
A big red door,
With a sign saying his last name.
I see a wedding
Me in my white gown,
Him in his tucks.
My father walking me down the isle.
Placing my hand in his.
I see a reception,
With everyone there.
Over in the corner,
I spot my brother giving you,
The be kind to my sister or I’ll rip your head off.
I see kids playing in the yard.
Both of our families over for a picnic.
All of the children playing together.
I see us growing old together.
Sitting on the porch in our rocking chairs.
Watching the grandchildren walk up.
I see us in heaven,
Still inseparable.
Laughing together,
Like the old times.
Just so you know,
That’s what I see when I look into his eyes.
