Tempest

by Lost Soul 691   May 18, 2007

Purposeful steps
coming to an end
With back erect
and eyes closed

Raise your face
for the noble
Feel the power
running within

Deeply breathe salt tinge
as winds teeth gnash
Pushing you near
to the edge

Yet feet implant
in a not yet stance
Thoughts abound
to score

Crashing waves strike
at merciless rocks
The sound echoes on
as gulls shriek

"JUMP NOW"
the voice screams
and pounds
through your veins

Tempest art thou
no more

Rex : Thank you for your comment on Tempest, especially in regards to the "JUMP NOW". When I read the poem aloud, it is with force and angry tone ... I've startled myself as to where this "voice" has come from. I tried reading it toned down but I can't. I'm very open to alternate words in this section, so please feel free to advise if you have a suggestion.
