Forgotten Firefly

by Hey Brittknee   May 19, 2007

Forgotten firefly
in the dark and lonely night
passes by my teary eyes
with a bright and shimmering light

Forgotten little firefly
lighting up the sky
land upon soft fingertips
and teach me how to fly

Forgotten lonesome firefly
afraid of the dark
almost out of energy
your light is but a spark

Forgotten cold firefly
landed upon my cheek
it's light seems to twinkle
upon tears that seem to leak

Forgotten little firefly
forgotten little girl
broken, twisted, messed-up lives
caught inside a whirl

Wow. This poem is so nice. The words worked well together I could see from the view of the firefly. This is my favorite stanza:
    Forgotten little firefly
    lighting up the sky
    land upon soft fingertips
and teach me how to fly

Great job, and thanks for the comment :D. 5 all the way!
