Seared with Infatuation

by alone in the crowd   May 20, 2007

Your eyes once burned me with infatuation
Searing memories into the back of my eyelids
Each blink reminding me of love
The tick-tock of hands covering the circumference of a face
Trying to conceal itself from passing time
Wishing to be exempt from the future
Longing to remain in the present
Emotions pouring down upon us like meteorites
Igniting hearts with fervor and attraction
Wanting to cannonball into the deep end
To drown together in a sea of passion
Staring into your eyes highlighted with ribbons of lust
The adoration shared is too strong to explain
No words to describe the comfort felt in your arms
Your soul encompassing this broken one
Mending the holes torn by others
Calling out with sweet sounds of seduction
Dragging me under your power
Surrendering to the brown leather and black cotton
Allowing a sensation to envelope my heart
Now this feeling slips away
Fleeing to another place, another time
Your eyes closing and turning off the passion
Smothering the fire within my heart
Taking back the comfort and passion
Leaving only the memories
The memories seared in the back of my eyelids
Each blink reminding me of you
