Poisonous

by Jenni   May 20, 2007

Reaching out with trembling hand
Pulling it back for fear of rejection
I slip back into the darkness that surrounds me
Aching for what I desire most
Yet unable to climb from the chains that bind me
Pathetic whimpers in the dark
Hoarse shouts that go unheard
While on the out side it all seems sunshine and light
Sweetness and smiles
As a bitter poison flows deeply through my veins
Smile and laugh no one will ever know
How I scream and writhe in pain below
And the poison flows
Crumbling and shattering inside
Simply seeking yet never finding
And the bitter poison flows unendingly
