The sad dark depressing poem

by Brook   May 20, 2007

I awake to the thunder and a lightning flash,
i listen closely to the silents after, then i hear a crash,
then a thump on the floor like some one fell, then a scream,
i got up then opened my door then i saw blood on the floor, like a stream,
a stream of warm red blood,
so much blood almost like a flood,
the blood came from my sisters room,
my dad walked out of my sisters room with a bloody broom,
i could hear my sister whimpering from inside the still, motionless room,
i was still standing out in the hall when my dad spotted me,
he looked at me in disbelief, i looked at him he looked at me,
he walked toward me in a threatening way, he pushed me into my room and i fell to the floor,
he slowly walked into the doorway of the room, then he smiled at me with the most evil smile, then he turned around and locked the door.

the next day there was a funeral,
for two little girls who were beaten to death,
people all around were crying,
But.... there was only one man who was smiling....

Yikes. That poem certainly has its impact. Your use of prophetic fallacy and murderous disdain from maker to creation reminded me much of Mary Shelley and her famous novel "Frankenstein". Let's just hope your work isn't as close-mindedly condemned as hers was.
