Long Journey

by brie kelly wise   May 20, 2007

You close your eyes
the long journey is just beginning
you gather your things
and stop all your sinning
you walk down the rocky road
with your bag of belongings
your heart and your soul
saying goodbye to your longings
you stop by a tree
and take a rest
you hear distant crying
maybe your fellow guest
you hear the words
"only one day,
we'll be reunited"
then you breathe one last breath
and continue your journey
onto the path you go
you've finished your learning
only in time you'll know
