Cold winters

by Breeanna   May 20, 2007

Walk a little farther
In this cold forgotten winter.
Don't make the mistake of turning up too late.

I'll lie awake a little longer.
Calling out your name when I do fall asleep.
Don't arrive too late.

I remember the sound
Of your feet walking around.
If only we didn't make this complicated.

November passing in a dream of clouds.
The truth bursting into flames.
My heart bled for you.

Closing my eyes
One foot in front of the other.
Another cold winter.

Awake in my bed
Your face flashing through my mind.
You've exceeded time and space.

Warm summers never compared to you.
Cold winters, spent snuggled into you.
We made a mistake.
