Angel of the dead man

by Jeremy   Apr 18, 2004

Angel
The poor man beckons, the dead man walks
The angel hangs limp in the sky
Her tears flood the valley
and bring forth the moon
And the dead man lives only to die.
Blood is the water and flesh is the drug
The angel sees only the lie
The poor man is wanting and wants nothing more
And the dead man lives only to die.
Follow the river is all he is told
The one with no breath heaves a sigh
The angel won't love him and loves no one more
And the dead man lives only to die.
Peace to the sister who carries the tide
The poor man is seeking the Eye
But the Eye cannot see if the lady won't hear
And the dead man lives only to die.
The mouth of the river is smothered in truth
The time of the poor man is nigh
The angel must stop what has already passed
And the dead man lives only to die.
Her screams pierce the poor man
and turn back the damned
The river of tears shall run dry
The angel can hear in the silence his love
And the dead man can finally die.
