Behind Closed Doors

by Jenni Marie   May 21, 2007

Constantly, it seems she has a smile upon her face
Never once letting her real emotions show
Looking so happy, bright and full of joy
What would people do if they were to know?

Holding herself so proudly
Unafraid to make herself heard
No one would ever guess
At home she barely speaks a word.

Trembling like a frightened rabbit
Speaking only when spoken to
Wondering what she's done to deserve
All the pain that she goes through.

Catering to his every whim
A shell of her former self
Recalling countless times
She desperately called for help.

Surrended herself fully
Pain tainting her soul
Remembering long ago
When she once felt whole.

Everyone else thinking she is happy
They don't see bruises under the clothes
Looking like she has the perfect life
Unaware of what happens behind closed doors.

I can't really say anything about this.. it hits too close to home for me
But as always you write with such a fluid motion..
    Well done..
