The Spy Who Gave a Damn Part I

by I Seem to be the Heartless   May 21, 2007

With the bad guy's arm around my neck
I began choking to death
Then suddenly he let go
Just before my last breath

In front of us stood
A man with a gun
With the initial intent to kill gone
Onto the ground I was flung

I watched in horror
As the two men took to fighting
On the distant horizon
There was a streak of lightning

Punches flying
Kicks connecting
Pools of blood
Now slowly collecting

Down on the ground
Now fighting for the gun
The rain now falling
I got up to run

I wanted so bad
To help this man
Because he was the spy
Who gave a damn.
