Try and Break Me

She walks through the clinic as people stop and stare,
Her eyes are lined with tears because he couldn't be there,
And she walks up to a nurse with bright green eyes,
Sugar coating all of her boyfriends pathetic little lies.

And in a private room all alone she hits her knees,
Watching him at gun point surrendering at: "Freeze!"
But she puts a hand over her stomach and cries,
Knowing that their baby would grow up in a world of goodbye's.

She desperately wanted to give her the life she never had,
Didn't want to believe that he ended up being just like her Dad,
And she recites the words that all of her friends had said,
Telling her he was no good, that the love was all in her head.

And laying on a hospital bed with tears in her sky blues,
She feels her baby kicking and says: "This is for you,"
For she knows that she would be mistaken so easily,
Crying, she whispers to the sky: "Just try and break me."

((Story - Girl is pregnant and her boyfriend was robbing a bank and got shot by police (just as her Dad had)..she watches it all in the hospital room as she goes into labor and knows that she must stay strong for the baby.))
