Clammy hands

by Steffje   May 22, 2007

I was there at your funeral
I wonder if you know
On your coffin, I threw some sand
It still sticks on my hand

I didn't know how to bury you
Thinking of what you've put us through
I didn't know how to feel
I still wonder which face was real

I was there at your funeral
And I didn't even cry
That day felt so cold
I still don't really know why

I don't know if I'm sorry
I wonder if I should be
Always read the same old story
Different, I wish it could be

I was there at your funeral
I wonder if you know
On your coffin, I threw some sand
I still sticks on my hand

All the good memories stay
And all the questions .. were you true?
I'll carry your blood in my veins
It's all I have left from you

A much beautiful poem about a difficult subject.
Het doet pijn om imand te verliezen op die manier, nietwaar?
Ik hoop dat alles goed met je is.
