When the heart gets broken due to all the hurt and pain,
it's hard to let go and let you love again.
you begin to build a wall that's so hard to break,
not letting anyone in so there's no more heartache.
in a way you become strong yet pretend to be fine,
trying not to think of things, trying to pass the time.
you hide behind a smile so people can't see,
the true feelings that lie deep within me.
i wish my heart wasn't broken in two,
then i could break down this wall and let you walk through.
if it was a different time and different place,
the smile you would see would be the truth on my face.
