This piece is so heart wrenching. We have lost so many soldiers. Each one special to someone. May God Bless them all.

Tears stream from a child's cheek
Daddy isn't coming home this week
    in Afghanistan, a roadside blast
took Daddy's life so very fast
You will always be my hero, Daddy ...

    Thes lines are so touching.
    Excellent job.
    May he rest in peace.

    Luanne,

It is really tragic that all this is still going on and it make me mad that Bush could not really care less about the men and women who have given their lies. I think many would like to see him go sooner rather then later.

This is such a sad write and extremely touching, as always you have done an incredible job will the message.

    Warmest regards,

    Steve

    My sweet Luanne,

So very sad, but a poem that needed to be wrote... and read.

"My Mommy cries but inside she's proud
for my Daddy did what he had vowed
to try his best and give his all
and return to Heaven if God should call
You will always be my hero, Daddy ..."

So captures my heart, once again.

    Always,
    Jeannie

Definitely a heartwrenching write. Your story is so sad. I live in a military base town and so these kinds of stories hit very hard. No matter the political views at the end of the day they will come home and he won't. So sad. My heart goes out to all the families who have lost someone as a result of this war. As for your poem the flow is very nice. I usually get lost if there is a repetetive line in one. However, I did not, and thought it was a beautiful touch that added so much impact to the story you told. Great Job.

A sad and very emotional read. War is something that takes so many lives. And this poem shows what it must be like inside of a family when they hear abouyt the tragic news. A sad and very emotional peace of poetry. Your repition of "You will always be my hero, Daddy ..." just makes the reader imagine a young girl saying these words. This just extends the emotion. I mean a young girl has loast her father. This creates this image thats just so touching. The rhyme scheme of this poem was quite good. I liked the alliteration; "Booming bass" it created this sound that reminds me of war. I felt that you should of used punctuation in this poem though. Keep it up! xx

Oh my god, this poem holds so many emotions. I almost cried when I read it. Really sad and touching subject. The repetition of the last line in every stanza is excellent.
    Truly priceless piece.

Beautiful sad penned yet well expressive emotions. I agree with Paul; war is hell....

"Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets. Remember that a little love goes a long way. Remember that a lot goes forever. Remember that friendship is a wise investment."

    Best wishes, Bert.
