It won't be enough

by amber   May 23, 2007

Didn't want to admit it
Easier just to lie
To hide the hurt and emptiness
To smile, instead of cry

To hard to face the facts
As I move on with my life
All our fading memories
Cut through like a knife

Divided by our future
Divided by my fears
Longing for a day
To let go of my tears

Pretend it doesn't matter
Afraid to just believe
Afraid that if I see the truth
I'll also see you leave

I wish I could go back
All the way to the start
The deepest and most desperate
Desire of my heart

Devoured by the terrible remembrances of time's past is horrid. Interestingly enough, reading this poignant piece reminds me of the saying, "The present is a gift. That is why present is called present." Thus, one should seize the day, the "now," the present moment to the fullest, rather than be lost in the past and in the uncertain future. =) Nicely done, nonetheless.

    Carpe Diem!
