I am from

by amber   May 23, 2007

I am from

The sand between my toes
The wind in my hair
Mothers in the kitchen
Fathers in his chair

Music in the background
Causing mother strife
But she doesn't hear it
The soundtrack of my life

I am from

Many different questions
I'll never understand
Most of them I blame on
A church with high demands

So many expectations
An unspoken exam
Boundaries set by parents
That make me who I am

I am from

Living on the hardwood
Falling for the game
To live my life without it
I'd never be the same

It never has been easy
I can't avoid the fall
Still I lace up my sneakers
Go out and play ball

I am from

Lost in crowed hallways
Searching for my place
Two friends there to help me
Make it back to base

There to protect me
There to defend
Always and forever
With me till the end

I am from

Many empty rooms
Full of many memories
I wouldn't trade a moment
Not even a simple breeze

Staring at the sky
Angles in the snow
Life's simple moments
Worth more then I'll ever know
