This Hospital Bed

So here, on this hospital bed, you lie,
I understand why you want to die,
But what I cannot understand is why,
You think it's ok to make me cry,
Why did you think this would be alright?
You promised me only last night.
'I promise you I won't do it' you said,
So why are you now lying on this bed?

You say you have nothing left to live for,
Does my love mean nothing anymore?
You ignored that I have nothing else,
You only ever cared about yourself,
I'm so angry at you, you see,
You knew what this would do to me,
But you went on and did it anyway,
Not wanting to stay another day,

So now you lie on this hospital bed,
And I know now, that you are dead.
