What Poetry Means to Me [Acrostic]

Words stuck inside my spinning
Head that I just can't seem to say
Aloud, are written onto
That blank piece of paper.

Pen scribbles here and there, my
Oasis in the midst of the horrors in
Everyday life; what does it mean
To write out the stories
Rotting in my numb heart,
Yearning to be heard?

Made-up or real,
Every single poem holds depth
And dreams or feelings,
Nagging at my mind until I
Solemnly pick up the pen and I write.

Telling these stories of heartache
Or inspiration, for all to read -

Means the world to me, and my voice,
Expressed through my words grows with me.
