Another World (For Contest)

by S R P   May 23, 2007

A different world it seems we live
Passion and grief we are willing to give
Love and trust we hold too close
like thy thorn protects thy rose.

A single tear portrays so much
Twill break a man with a single touch
Happiness only goes so far
Diminishing as slowly as a fading star.

Behind these bars you will see another cage
A time filled with suffering, a world of rage.
Should thy thorn prick you, make you think twice
It will surely be used as a different device.

Show your weakness and your dread
Use not your heart, use your head.
Use your eyes and not your mind
See what this life wants you to find.

Open your ears and listen to the wind
A haunting message it is likely to send.
You do not see what is meant to be seen
You simply see what has been.
