You're the biggest cliche I've ever heard

by SomewhereAmongThePieces   May 23, 2007

I followed my heart
And it lead me to you
I gave you my heart
And you tore it in two
You swore that you loved me
That we were meant to be
You promised me forever
Because your future was me
Somehow I believed you
Probably because love is blind
And I foolishly assumed
That you were only mine
But bubbles burst
And towers tumble
I guess this is how
the cookie crumbled
Now its not me
Its you of course
Yet Im the reason
Youre out of sorts
Oh, and Im the one
Who crushed your dreams
I guess I forgot
Youre only seventeen
How dare I try to tie you down
To be your ball and chain
Im sorry I loved you with all my heart
I must not have a brain
If youre the one whos lacking sense
Why am I confused?
I want you to understand me
And take a walk in my shoes
But like you can lead a horse to water
You cant make him drink
I can force you to listen to me
But I cant make you think
Now if you think
That what Ive said is absurd
Allow me to inform you
You're the biggest cliche Ive ever heard
