Pull down

by magen   May 23, 2007

I'll pull down my sleeves,
They don't have to know,
It's okay to be like me,
In this world, all alone.

Thousands of dreams are wasted,
Pen knives take the blame,
Of a past that just won't leave me alone,
That has caused me so much pain.

Bleeding keeps the pain at bay,
Tending to scars that are here to stay,
Take the knife and carve your name,
Happiness is just a gash away.

I can't be afraid any longer,
It's too far to fall,
I can't make it any longer,
I want to destroy it all.

Double sided razors,
And kitchen knives,
Sharpened tools,
Take their lives.

Tomorrow I'll smile,
I'll twist my hair,
I promise to be fine,
And laugh without a care.

I'm going to walk around like I'm happy,
I'm going to talk as if I'm okay,
I'm going to forget my scars,
And hide them today.

I'll pull down my sleeves,
They don't have to know,
I'll cry to myself,
It's okay because I'm alone.
