Prayer: Save Her

by Memory   May 24, 2007

I said a little prayer,
God did you hear?
Your little girl is dying,
drowning in her tears.

Everyday she smiles,
and pretends that she's okay.
She tried hard to have friends,
but nobody stayed.

She cries herself to sleep,
it's her favorite lullaby.
Only You and I know
how much she prays to die.

I know what she's hiding.
The scars on her skin.
The pressure to be perfect
drove her to sin.

She's lost in the darkness,
and she can't escape.
I'm praying to you God,
give her a better fate.

She doesn't deserve this prayer,
but it's a small favor to ask.
I don't want to see her forever
hiding behind her mask.

So my faith is lacking,
but I must at least try.
For I am her last resort,
and I can't let her die.

So I'm praying to you God,
I hope you can see.
If you can't save her,
then you can't save me.
