Letters to Dad

by Erin   May 24, 2007

I guess in the end when we're all said and done,
You'll finally appear from the grass and the sun.
From the far away hill tops that I'll never see, from the orchards and crickets and the tides from the sea.

I can't help but to think that I've not done enough, for the judge is all knowing, that the judge will be tough.
But You can't blame me for trying it is You who instilled, the light from within me to follow Your will.

I've never been perfect, I've barely held true, in times I've made choices and departed from You.
I ask as Your daughter keep holding me tight, although I may stray far by day or by night.

Continue to test me, for that makes me strong,
I know that with You I'll be home before long.
