This Reminds Me

Laying among a night lit sky,
I will let go,
Of every little emotion,
This is everything i know.

The wave of the grass,
Reminds me of your last goodbye,
You swore we'd make it,
But before my eyes, i saw it die.

The wind moving over my body,
Reminds me of that endless stare,
I didn't want you to look away,
But you did, like i was your last care.

City lights blinding my sight,
I realise your slipping through my fingers,
Time has passed,
But the feeling still lingers.

I may ask how it got like this,
The sun may lose it's shine,
You ran away with a part of me,
But I'm sure I'll be fine.

The star hanging in the sky,
Reminds me of your lit up smile,
The way you took me in your arms,
Please don't take my breath away for more than awhile.

The stones laid out as a path,
Reminds me of the journey we took,
If i could untangle every word,
I'd put this tragedy in a book.

Let me set myself free,
Let me have strength for these souls,
We both know its time,
Time for me to break down these walls.
