Trampled Buds And Missing Gems

by supratim   May 24, 2007

I thought it is a miracle
When I came here with laurels,
And returned..... perhaps with
An another great news----

I got my desired temple to pray!

A temple which imparts
Some diamond and gold enamelled prayers.
And seals the forehead
With some turquoise diamonds
And precious black pearls, with a crown
Of gems found inside cobra's belly!

I only needs to recite and visualize
As my prayers demand it,
And pass one and a two of the almanac years.

Yes... only that much of toil,
And become full as I return.

So, I started reciting and visualizing,
Thinking each drop of my blood
Should reflect the golden letters!

But.... an uninvited and unexpected
Sudden crash.......

It robbed my scriptures
My chanting tongue
And my fast blooming visualizing power.
So stealthily it drained my blood,
From my precious red ocean!!

Now, there only lies
A cold, dark silence of the astral abyss.

I burn incense and colorful candles
Anointed with essence.
And reciting magical words,
To make my voice more lighter
Till it reaches high up,
So, as to re-fill my emptied red ocean.

But one and a two almanac years
Have come to an end,
And the peacock flew atlast...
And I crossed it,
With the remaining trace of my scriptures
And visualizing power.

Now, as it is the time to return back home,
And take the diamond
And pearl embedded crown---
I take with me some dry branches
With one or two withering shoots,
Some gold glitters,
That I found lying scattered
In the course of my journey,
Some verses and a bowl of memories.
And show them to my dear ones at home,
With a fake proud chest, saying---

"Look I've collected these'jewels'
From the temple for you!"

With the left hand I hide my emptied ocean,
In the fear that they might know
That the jewels which I've brought
Are nothing..
But some trampled buds and glitters,
Which people kicked and spitted.
And I picked them up, just to show,
That I've collected them
From the temple that once I dreamed.
