Lately, I've been a mess
Full of distress
Haven't smiled for a while
I've only been depressed.

Feels like an eternity
Inside it's burning me
Can't you tell?
Just look at me.

Happiness? What is that?
Sounds like something on a welcome mat
I guess it's not for me
Certainly something I'll never excel at.

Sadness is my only friend
Guaranteed to be with me 'til the end
It's not my choice
It's just the only thing I can comprehend.

I wish someone could see underneath this mask
It's not a difficult task
Just someone to understand me
Someone to be here for me.. is all I ask.

    Two strong lines with deep emotion portrayed nicely. I liked the 5th stanza the best it seemed like it held the most emotion. Your ryhme scheme was interesting. An enjoyable read. Well done~mel

    I loved the 5th stanza in this poem it was written so well and it's so true. "Sadness is my only friend, Guaranteed to be with me 'til the end. Seems when we're sad it only gets worse and never better. Great job 5/5
