Kyun aathien hain log is chaukhat pe,
Kyun guzarish karthe hain sab humare hi dar pe?

Yeh kiski awaz hai,
Andheron ke sarsarahat pe?

Kaun aya phir se
Rakhne ek khwahish meri khali si kitab pe?

Ek gehri raat,
Aur woh chup chap asmaan ke sitaron pe.

Dhundoo usse?
Kaunse chaukhat pe?
Kaunse dar pe?
