I Will Forget

by Sarah Davis   May 24, 2007

The seasons pass by,
The days grow shorter,
And the night grows colder.
And my loneliness deepens.
Craving for that long forgotten image,
That was your face.
Longing for the music of your laughter,
Memories I once held so dear,
Are slipping through my fingers.
Holding onto your picture at night,
I think it's just such a shame.
The picture lasted longer than you.
Images and memories of you,
They permeate throughout my thoughts.
I'll eventually fall asleep.
I'll more than likely dream of you.
But one day, I will forget.
I will forget you. All the pain you caused me.
All that wasted time.
And then I can reclaim myself,
Then truly be myself again.

Wonderful poem... forgeting looks so easy...
    but it never is...
    anyway...
    to speak about happier things...
    this is a great poem...
    the flow is beautiful...
it's surely a really nice free verse piece... =D
