I've always waited for the perfect guy who would always be true
But I guess it still wasn't clear to me what a wonderful friend I had in you.

As I dreamed, I searched in my past without a doubt
That in my happy days and terrible days, your face would stand out.

I remember you've always been there through thick and thin
And everytime I needed you, you've always been there for me.

I've been seeing you a bit more different since the day you took me to the skool dance
Something kept bugging me that it was the beginning of giving someone new a chance.

Could it be that the perfect guy I wanted who would always be true
Was already in front of me and I never knew?

It's kind of funny that you were always near
But who would have guessed that we'd end up here?
