In This Fortress of Tears (Kyrielle)

by Bryan   May 24, 2007

I gave you all my love,
but you were never sincere,
still your all I can think of,
In This Fortress of Tears.

No matter how hard I try,
I can't erase these fears,
as I sit here and cry,
In This Fortress of Tears.

Through this I feel no hate,
your love wasn't as it appears,
now I will forever wait,
In This Fortress of Tears.

I will always love you,
for the rest of my years,
my love will be eternally true,
In This Fortress of Tears.

A Kyrielle is a French form of rhyming poetry written in quatrains (a stanza consisting of 4 lines),
and each quatrain contains a repeating line or phrase as a refrain (usually appearing as the last
line of each stanza). There is no limit
to the amount of stanzas a Kyrielle may have, but three is considered the accepted minimum.

The emotions attached in the poem generated an effect to the reader which was quite poignant; it's one of the major highlights of your poetical works--a bittersweet aftertaste.

Reasonably astonishing, I dare say. Nice job, dear! Love, Debbie Cakes

I liked this style i found it to be quite interesting to read. The repetition of the style was great and held an impact, your word choice was amazing and held such emotion. Well done on a nicely written poem~mel
