Summer Lovin'

by Yuna   May 24, 2007

When the sun starts to dip,
Into the awaiting depths below.
When the wind is just right,
And the mood begins to grow.

The sky creates a painting
To portray young lovers,
Who are silently waiting,
As quiet as two doves.

The couple moves closer,
Together tonight.
Watching summer’s pleasures,
As their love ignites.

The scene is cloaked in darkness,
As the day comes to an end.
The summer is just beginning,
Which I cannot wait to spend!

    Yuna,
When I read the title of this poem, the first thing that popped into my mind was the song with "Summer Lovin'" in it. Regardless of the song, this was a really great poem! It's kind of a common topic, but like your other poems, you gave it your own style.
    Keep it up, 5/5

    With all due respect,
    Hatori

P.S. Great job in my contest! Thanks for entering as well!!

I truly adore this poem. I hardly could even pick my favorite line or stanza because I find every one of them simply, strikingly penned. I'm unsure if it was intentional on your part, but I find this allusion of couples, images created by the clouds, quite exceptional and metaphorical in regards to the changing seasons! Ha! =D I like that...

As always, your pen generates such works which induce warmth to the reader's heart although this sincerity in composition came from the writer's soul. It was a joy to read! Thank you for sharing. (I read this awhile ago, but I didn't leave a comment immediately. Instead, I rated it a 5 as well as your other new piece.) Love, Debbie
