Darkness Shields

by George   May 25, 2007

What do you see with eyes on me?
You see a human, winsome, free?
Or see an outcast shadowman
Watching life from safer span?
Trying to approach the would
Finding only dreams unfurled

When life has ceased its harried pace
To darkness turn your sorrow face
The light has gone, has left the sky
Life, love, desire; all now die
Embrace the pull, the dark is kind
To those of shattered, fearful mind
The dark can shield the soul from pain
Detach from light, connecting brings around again

If long you for another's touch
To see you through your fears and such
You soon will find, alas to cost
The warming soul can quickly frost

I've noticed throughout your poems your word choice is amazing. Which I love. :] The words aren't 'cliche' words nor are they words people can't understand.
The flow in this poem was amazing, along with the emotions.
    5/5
    Great Job.
