When Love Has Died

by Twisted Heart   May 25, 2007

When love has died in just one soul
The other's left to bare the pain
Too many lonely nights it brings
To wrap around our hearts again.

In the mist of all the lonely tears
That crowd inside our every breath
We hunger for the love we knew
Now tossed and in distress.

There may be children who to care
The life they knew is gone
Now at the table an empty chair
A wonder of what had gone wrong.

But distant dreams may lend release
The love of one and two
May not be what you hope to find
For what your hearts been through.

Oh my oh my....This made me teary eyed...my parents have been stuggling for some years now and the only reason they are together is because of me and my brother....I'm scared that when I get older there will be lonely nights in this house and empty rooms.....you described a feeling that I wish no adult nor child would ever have to go through but unfortunatley thats life and thats what happens :-/....Great write!!

^^ This stanza stuck out to me and inspired an idea....mind if I used "An empty Chair" for a poem title?!

The pain and dispair of being alone really comes thruogh in your words. Imagery is great.

In the mist of all the lonely tears
That crowd inside our every breath
We hunger for the love we knew
    Now tossed and in distress.

    This stanza is so heartfelt.
