The down pour

by Stephanie Naylor   May 25, 2007

We sat on the steps of the front porch
Watching as the lightning
paints a picture across the sky

and as the thunder plays its
rhythmic beat
not another move or another sound

you pull me in your arms
and you just look in my eyes
then you tell me you love me

and you kiss my lips softly
just so delicate
and then the rain begins to pour

its pours happiness
and lust into this moment
making it special

a day of the DOWNPOUR
when you kissed me
for the first time

-----------------------------------------------------------------
just thinking of the time my ex boyfriend first kissed me, it was great, though it wasn't my first kiss

A great memory. Aren't first kisses great? At least, this kiss went very well. A very good write. Such talent for your age.

Not great, but good all the same, the imagery was good and it flowed well. i just think it was too much like other love poems i've read.

This poem very nearly brought tears to my eyes. The image you painted was so beautiful that, at first, they were tears of joy. Then, because I realized that this will be ending for you, they turned to tears of sadness. Great piece and may you find ~Peace~ soon.
