Sex, Lies, and Betrayal

by Midnight Sun   May 25, 2007

A timid young girl
Never spoke much
So innocent she was
But yearned for a touch

He gave her the attention
And flattered her so
She was too naive
Wanting to take it slow

He promised her this
But soon crossed the line
He wanted one thing
And wouldn't waste time

She felt so dirty
She knew she'd been used
She was left so scared
Punched, kicked, and abused

Her innocence was stolen
Her naivety scarred
This cold memory
Would never be far

Yes this gross act
left her so frail
She'd always remember
The sex, lies, and betrayal

One of your best for sure...it was funny because when I saw that title in the contest, I was like who in the world would do that? lol but you did it very nicely. This was a sad poem with some very good wording and it shows the danger of trusting those who "promise" you whatever you want to hear. A good piece! I loved the second stanza because it shows how easy it is to fall for someone like that. Good job!
    5/5 for sure!
