The Game That Played Us

by xTheEcstasyOfSuicidex   May 25, 2007

Love struck us like lighting bringing us down as if a broken kite,
We stood strong against the wind, but like a child we couldn't fight.
This game that played us is like children playing hide and seek,
The game that played us is called love, made us weak.

We'll fall to our knees, but still believe that love might save us,
Yet as we believe the game takes a twisting turn so we lose trust.
We're pushed to the ground by the game's crushing lies,
We're thrown around as the ground disappears and we forget how to cry.

This game that played us like children play hop-scotch,
It abused us and used us and then sat there and watched.
This game played us like children play hide and seek,
The game that played call love made us weak.

I loved this poem, you did another really good job. Your imagery and everything is spot on. One thing though,

"The game that played us is called love, made us weak."
^^ I don't know why, but this line sort of threw me off. And then in the last stanza, you are missing some words in it as well.

Other than that, there's nothing wrong with this poem..great job, Dear.

Wow, you are an amazing writer. I don't know why I haven't read your work yet. This one was great. A lot of us can relate to this poem; I know I can. The flow was great and the rhyming was awesome. Another great job. :]
