Flag in the wind

by shana   May 26, 2007

They held their flag high
holding it chanting
"equality"
All they wanted
was the right-
like everyone else.

To be treated equally
to be able to have
freedom of speech
and not be judge for
what they do or who they are...

They let their brightly
colored flag wave
through the spring breeze
flapping back and fourth
for justice...

They just want to have
the same rights
as any straight man
as any straight women-
For they are humans too,
are they not?

Wave your brightly colored flag-
for all the world to see...

    "to be able to have
    freedom of speech
    and not be judge for
what they do or who they are..."

This was invariably the desire of each human living on this contemptuous, earthly world. To judge others, I suppose, by their positive and negative features is characteristic of an individual. It is humans' perfectly imperfect nature after all...

For your first piece of poetical work, I think you've done quite well upon writing such a topic in regards to the society. Just tighten up the lines and add more rhythm to it for an enhancement. X) Keep it up and your star will glitter eventually! Take care.
