Weeping Willow [Acrostic]

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   May 26, 2007

Wind sweeps through her
Elegant hanging branches,
Empty from the winter's
Perfect snow, a beauty
Imponderable; but she stands
Nervously as the moon breaks and she
Groans - her bark is creaking from the

Wind. Swaying in the breeze she stands,
Impeccable to the naked eye, but in her
Loneliness she bears the mark of two
Lovers, their names flawlessly sketched
Over her aging skin, and she stands
Weak, with her branches hanging low.

Acrostic Poetry is where the first letter of each line spells a word, usually using the same words as in the title.

I always like acrostic poems and this was one of the most meaningful ones I have ever read..
    I especially liked;

    Lovers, their names flawlessly sketched
Over her aging skin, and she stands
Weak, with her branches hanging low.

I'm sorry for my delay btw,
    Take care,
    Laura
