A step I made

by emptysole   May 26, 2007

I made the step to the great out doors,
swirling winds passed through my toes,
aching desires of the itching flies,
but this is the path I aimed for.

battling chambers of emotions within,
graceful butterfly's pass on by,
I hear the rustling of the tree leaves,
and try to look through the rising mist,

Their in front I find a stone,
ice to touch but is a little critters home,
for his life he would give to protect
its just a rock, but to him so much more

every step you take can disrupt another,
but to seldom we remember their there,
the tiny little creatures that live around us
but people don't care, because there step comes first
