The Day My Life Was Over

You wonder how I can live with you
knowing how you feel,
I wonder why you can't see that I
can't live without you
You've given me your word that
you're not going anywhere,
I've given to you my life, my love,
my heart, my soul.
In my dreams I have lost you many
times over and over,
Just let me tell you what that kind
of pain is like.
Life is going along great until one
day an asteroid hits earth,
The ground begins to shake and pieces
of the sky comes crashing down.
A huge black cloud of dust fills the
once clear air,
As the sun gets blocked out, it starts
to get cold and dim.
The dust begins to choke me and it is
getting hard to breath,
My eyes begin to roll back into
my congested head.
And then you come out of nowhere and
give me some hope,
The black cloud of dust starts to
retreat and suddenly disappear.
The air is clean, clear, such a pleasant
smell is in the air,
I can breath again and my vision is
coming back to me.
The sunshine is again shining down and
the air begins to get warm,
The grass begins to grow and the earth
is turning green once again.
The Grey in the sky starts turning back
to a beautiful blue,
I hold you in my arms and I know that
everything is going to be just fine.
Then I wake up and see that the sky is
still blue, the grass is still green,
I roll over and hold you as you are still
fast asleep.
Then I realize that life is such a wonderful
thing because I have you,
And as long as I have you, I have everything
I could ever possibly need!
