Prayer

by x Mo x   May 27, 2007

Dear God,

Thank thee for my life.
Thank thee for lifting the strife.
I thank thee for the strength
That comes without length.
I thank thee for my friends
Whose love never ends.
I am grateful for this home
In which my thoughts roam.
But now I do ask thee,
What do you have in store for me?
Will I grow to be old?
Or will I die in the cold?
Am I wasting my time writing?
Should I go to war fighting?
Am I doing it right?
Do angels watch me through the night?
Can I ever see you again?
When will my pain end?
I ask thee to help me today.
I pray thee to let me know what to say.
I pray that thou wilst keep me at peace.
I ask thou to stop this great war please.
I ask thee to do all that thou canst
To free the great people of many other lands.
Again I thank thee for all that thou dost do,
And with all these things, I say, Thank you.

Amen

I don't really like this. it's obvious you've focussed primarily on your rhyming and it's interfered with the write as a whole.
you could do a lot more with this concept.
