Man In Black

by John Porter   May 27, 2007

Good times
Float away too soon
We sell ourselves
Like a black balloon

We give ourselves
To someone we know
But they take and take
Until your cold as snow

Your fragile
But you didn't know
Your broken now
With nothing to show

For the shit you've done
From the friends you've made
From the people you know
For the price you paid

To be love
To be mean
To be hated
And in between

To be happy
To be sad
To be dead
Just like your dad

Just ask him he'll know
Hes been there and back
Hes been hurt and burned
And now his heart is black

You wonder whats with him
But now you can see clear
Your just like the man in black
Nothing left to fear

So be yourself
And don't sell yourself short
Because tomorrow comes too soon
And youill be heading north

To get away
From this place
To get paid
To fill that space

In your heart
that's turned black
You and I know
You cant turn back
