If I could be anyone

by Ellys Parker   May 27, 2007

If you came up to me
And asked who I was,
Would I have a choice, I want to know
Because...

If I could be anyone,
I would be someone who cares.
Someone you could trust
To sort out your affairs.
To be there in a time of need,
To stand up for my beliefs.
To do what I want to do,
To stand above my grief.

If I could be anyone,
I would be someone to lean on
One who tries new things.
To be able to reach out,
And give my thoughts some wings.
I would ignore all the naysayers,
The whiners and quitters.
I would be someone who would change the world,
And never gets the jitters.

If I could be anyone,
I would be someone new.
But if I could really only be one someone,
I'd be someone with you.
Because for all the good things,
That I may or may not do,
I know theres one thing
That still remains too true.

No matter how great someone becomes,
They've never done it alone.
They've had someone who helped get them started,
And shared what they have known

Someones always need another,
To them their respect is due.
So If I could be anyone my love,
I'd first be someone with you.

Oh that was so cute. It has a great message and it was delivered perfectly. It got a little rocky at times as far as the flow was concerned, but other than that it was amazing!
