Another Day

by Kyrie   May 28, 2007

Lipstick smeared from kisses
tainted with a dew-like gloss of blood
that shines death of innocence
through blurry eyes.
Eyes that reflect broken promises
torn skin, kissed blade...Knives of penetrable lies.
Another bad day begins
broken glass, fallen tears, unconcious dreams.
Dreams that transform into dancing shadows of her past
howling winds break the silence of night.

Inhaling poison of her cigarette
the end that burns with purpose,
it smolders in its' nicotine infused cancer.
Smoke swirling patterns of the future.
Menthol lingers in the air.
Bright red burns against her pale, breakable skin,
flesh sizzles beneath the flame of hate.

The newspaper tells its lies and misconceptions.
Sighing as the world weighs down upon shoulders
that are bloody and scarred.
YEars of self inflicted pain.
Eyes seem happy, but there is more.
She can look past sympathetic smiles or friends, family, and envious eyes of strangers.

A sadness overwhelms her now
she knows that she will not last
Another day.
