I saw you in the Next Life

by GemmaR   May 28, 2007

I've seen you in the next life
And held you by the hand
There we are no longer afraid
And live the dreams we planned

Our bodies are not important
As love doesn't know our age
It's as if we are the only humans
The world, our vast empty stage

Every day seems to last forever,
Every night lasts longer still,
There is no time to worry about,
There is no time to try and kill

We drift along in harmony
No longer trying to understand
The world stretched out before us
A beautiful and lonely land

We don't need to talk anymore
As we know each other's mind
There is nothing left to discover
No new secrets to unwind

We have all but forgotten
Our human life of the past
Where nothing was a constant
And love wasn't built to last

We think we are in heaven
But it's a lovely type of hell
And we would die if we knew
Our souls were not ours to sell

That this bower is our prison
These flowers are our chains
That our demons are no longer
And only this coma remains

I've seen you in the next life
And my love, it frightened me
So I will keep you in this one
Where we can truely be free
